May 12-18 is National Nursing Week. This year's theme is The Power of Nurses to Transform Health. As a nursing regulator, CRPNA sets standards for registered psychiatric nurses in Alberta, in service of our public protection mandate.
We take this moment to acknowledge and thank the nursing community for your invaluable contributions in providing safe, competent, and ethical care for all.
We also recognize our Council, staff and key partners including associations, agencies, and government for working every day to improve the health-care system and ensure all Albertans received safe, compassionate care.
Starting January 1, 2025, Chika Dike will join the CRPNA Council as a new member and and Sharon Martin will continue as a member of council. These appointments follow the CRPNA’s shift to a competency-based selection process, which replaces peer elections with appointments based on demonstrated expertise and leadership. Chika Dike and Sharon Martin's terms will run through December 31, 2027. For more information, visit our website.
